WE CAN'T WAIT TO

MEET YOU

Woodlawn is a church on a journey to transform the lives of our members and our community through acts of service, joyful worship, and God’s love. We seek to live like Jesus by applying the timeless truths of the bible to the opportunities and challenges of life today.

SERVICES

WORSHIP

Worship service takes place at 11 am on the main level in our sunny sanctuary. The service includes Bible-based sermons that are humorous and inspiring, a live worship band, and favorite hymns.

SUNDAY SCHOOL

Sunday School classes are available for all ages, children to adults, at 10 am. Sunday School is a great opportunity to dive deeper into the bible in age-appropriate classes.

COFFEEHOUSE WORSHIP

Coffeehouse Worship is a relaxing evening of worship music, coffee & snacks, and fellowship. Worship music is led by our praise band with occasional breaks for prayer, sharing, and meditation on scripture. Feel free to sing along with the lyrics, which are displayed, or just sit back and enjoy the music.

KID'S PROGRAMS

Sunday School

Children & Youth Sunday School classes are available at 10 am and are located in the upper level of the church. Sunday School is a great opportunity to learn about the bible in a fun and engaging way.

Kindness Counts

Children and families enjoy worshiping together for the first half of the service. Children & Youth are then invited upstairs to the youth room to join Kindness Counts. The children participate in age-appropriate lessons and activities about showing Jesus' love through kindness to others.

Vacation Bible School

Each summer, our church and community rally together to create an unforgettable experience for our kids at VBS. During the fun-filled week, our church basement transforms into a world of imagination and biblical learning. Join us in the jungle for this year's theme, "Wild About Jesus!" Each day, VBS includes a skit, music, a bible lesson, crafts, snacks, and games.

FAQs

What do I wear?

We are a casual church. On any given Sunday, you may see a suit or a Steelers jersey. (Now you tell us who is more appropriately dressed for church.) Be comfortable, come as you are, and have an open heart for God to speak to you.

Where do I park?

There is a parking lot at the back of the church. Handicap spaces are available, and we suggest reserving the row closest to the building for those that may be mobility impaired. Street parking is also available on the streets surrounding the building.

Where do I go when I get to church?

We have a parking lot behind the building off of Main Street. The ramp from the parking lot will lead directly into the back of the sanctuary where are greeters can help you get acquainted. There is also on-street parking and a front entrance on McMinn Street. When using this entrance, walk straight ahead to the wooden doors of the sanctuary. There will also be greeters ready to help at this entrance.

What do I do with my kids?

During worship, we encourage kids to stay for the first part of the service so you can worship together as a family. After the music, children are invited upstairs to the Youth Room to participate in Kindness Counts, where children participate in age-appropriate lessons and activities about showing Jesus' love through kindness to others. Children return to their families at the end of the service.

What is your worship service like?

At 11 am worship, you’ll find a relaxed atmosphere with an informal style. Pastor Howard's sermons are Bible-based and contain humorous and inspiring messages about applying God's truths to today's world. Our contemporary music is led by a live praise band along with favorite hymns on the organ. We sing some of the best-known contemporary praise songs, by artists such as Chris Tomlin, Crowder, and Casting Crowns, in our own style.
